Some unofficial phone apps appear to be using GameFAQs as a back-end, but they do not behave like a real web browser does.Using GameFAQs regularly with these browsers can cause temporary and even permanent IP blocks due to these additional requests. If you are using the Brave browser, or have installed the Ghostery add-on, these programs send extra traffic to our servers for every page on the site that you browse, then send that data back to a third party, essentially spying on your browsing habits. We strongly recommend you stop using this browser until this problem is corrected. The latest version of the Opera browser sends multiple invalid requests to our servers for every page you visit. The most common causes of this issue are: The act two boss is, frankly, an insane difficulty spike, but otherwise the game introduces new enemies and traps at a good pace.Your IP address has been temporarily blocked due to a large number of HTTP requests. Perfectly positioning your squad and executing a flawless assault of headshots and room-clearing grenade bounces in immensely satisfying! And even on normal difficulty, the game pushes back just enough to make you plan your moves, but still feel like an unstoppable action hero. But good luck putting this game down because the player progression on display is one of the most addicting I’ve experienced in recent years.įrom hiring brand new recruits and unlocking their unique skills in battle, to finding rare weapons and loot that completely switch up a character’s play style, there’s always something exciting to experiment with! And while it keeps the game kind of samey on the visual level, the randomness of the levels always keeps you on your toes even if you need to replay a mission. And the quick mission structure makes for a perfect pick-up-and-play option while traveling or to knock out a few levels in bed. You’re highly encouraged to swap your crewmates out and find which characters suit your playstyle. The difficulty is easily scalable for players at all skill levels and the game does a great job of teaching you the basics and easing you into more challenging scenarios. But thank goodness I gave Heist a chance on the Switch, because it’s now one of my most recommended indies for the system! I tend to lean on my platformer and action roots and have historically dropped strategy games or RPGs like Fire Emblem. Upon release, I’d heard unanimous praise for the game from friends and critics alike but was intimidated by the idea of the series becoming a strategy game – often compared to hardcore tactics games like XCOM. The soundtrack was composed by steampunk folk rock band, “Steam Powered Giraffe” which complements the jovial tone of the game. And because of the slower pace and smaller maps, the level of detail in the characters and environments can really shine – though they can get a little repetitive after enough time with the game and the nature of the random generation. ![]() The art style is gorgeous with much taller and more visually distinct character designs than either Dig game. The game has a very playful action serial presentation to it, with an old-timey narrator introducing each act and the general swash-buckling attitude permeates everything from the dialogue to the weapon descriptions. ![]() The story stars space smuggler and pirate captain, Piper Faraday as she recruits a crew of ragtag steam-bots to take down the oppressive regime of the Red Queen and uncover an ancient conspiracy. Where the Dig games are 2D action-platformers with an emphasis on resource collecting and exploration, Heist is a 2D turn-based strategy shooter where you complete randomly generated missions with a squad of upgradable crew members. ![]() SteamWorld: Heist was released between the two Dig games and features a completely different gameplay hook. The game built a lot off its 3DS predecessor but lacked cohesion and felt like a totally different game by the end of it. A year ago, I made a scathing review of SteamWorld: Dig 2, the latest release from Swedish Producer Image and Form Games in the “SteamWorld”series for the Nintendo Switch. ![]()
